Re: Wanted: Total Blender Beginners to Test Tutorials

Wow. You don't quit, do you?

If you ever decide to bottle and sell your energy, put me on the mailing list, 'kay?

...I've been flirting with the idea of learning Blender. Pros: everybody here is doing it, and I'm sure I could benefit from the atmosphere of friendly cooperative simultaneous ...

Re: Apart from a Pen...

About the symbols (Is this thread schizophrenic or what?): I'm not sure if we know the official symbols for the Book-Makers and Ink-Makers, but I would guess they would be a book and a beetle, respectively (although the book is not to be confused with the Maintainers' symbol, which is a book with an ...

Re: Resources for Age Creation

In order to get this started, how about a new "Resource Library" forum, with a "Wish List" sticky at the top, where people can request objects they need for Ages they're working on? It'll need a more permanent home eventually, but it would provide a place for people to start sharing what they're ...

Re: New age can be modern?

Indeed -- an Age absolutely can be modern.

The reason we tend to view Ages as wild outposts containing a few decrepit, run-down buildings is because the majority of Ages we've seen were uninhabited Ages Written by Atrus a hundred years ago, where he built everything you see with his own two hands ...

Re: Proposal Acceptance

This is why I think the minimum turnout stipulated was arbitrary and inaccurate. You said we'd use it and see how it worked, and I think we can see it didn't work very well.

These first issues I think would generate more interest than any, and I only see turnout declining from here (among current ...

Re: I'm analyzing D'ni... (guess this is Part 1)

Oh no...I think the Cult of Yeesha is being joined by a new Cult of Zandi. They will wear his shirt everywhere and lounge around drinking beer. They will attend trailer-shaped Summonings at the Cleft. Or maybe Cleft-shaped Summonings at the trailer. They will also spout nonsense, only with a drawl ...

Re: Resources for Age Creation

I've been thinking the same thing...I'm absolutely with you there.

Maybe some modelers that don't feel up to making a whole Age could work on creating some stock objects...books and journals, tables, chairs, lamps, and especially trees and plants, that everyone could use.

Re: The Life of a Modern Day D'ni Writer

Very cool. I really like exploring the IC-side of Writing.

One little nit...you do know that you can't link to an Age until it's finished, right? No checking on it in-progress! You just Write with the Age you want in your head, then when you're done, link and hope for the best!

Nice video, though ...

Flying... attack ferns?

I can't believe the speed of your progress. This looks great! Especially the non-flying, non-attack ferns on the ground there...beautiful! :)
