Good to see you back. Can you offer advice about Blender? I know nothing about Age Building, but I've been fooling around with Blender and can't seem to get much of anywhere.
The best advice I can give with using Blender (the interface of it), is to keep at it and do not give up.

3ds Max Help From Me
In case anyone is interested, I'm back from my long hiatus and am here to help as it were with anyone that has questions about making Ages in 3ds Max.
I have made a LOT of tutorials on many of the basics and some advanced things for this area. Links to those tutorials are in my signature here, and ...

Re: Hey there. Long time no see.....
I have been using 3DS Max 8 which allows the import of FBX and OBJ files which TerraGen 2 & 3 also will handle.
BUT - NONE of the textures, plants, buildings, or atmospheric effects are imported...
I do not know TerraGen's capability of exporting those things. Objects like plants or buildings ...

Re: Hey there. Long time no see.....
Okay, no I never did do a tutorial on how to use TerraGen I'm afraid. I do seem to remember a very old tutorial that was put out back in 2007 or so by someone here at the GoW, but the wiki has been revamped and I can't find it.
So a little bit of research on my part:
I downloaded TerraGen 3 free ...

Re: Hey there. Long time no see.....
Greetings Andy
It is great to see you. I know that you used TerraGen in the past in the creation of some of your ages but I have been unable to locate the tutorials for the import of those generated in TerraGen to 3DS Max. I am about ready to toss out what I have done and start over in 3DS Max 8 ...

Re: Hey there. Long time no see.....
You mean all the tutorials I made way back when for using the Max Plugin wasn't enough
wow. I mean I'm sure people might have questions about certain things, maybe more advanced stuff, but I thought I covered the basics pretty well. Or is it more about how to use Max itself?

Hey there. Long time no see.....
Been quite a LONG time since I've been to this forum.
But I was contacted by someone that wanted my permission for something, and I'll admit that I was curious (bit shocked too) as to what has been going on here at the GoW.
It's been.....what? A year and a half or so? I think I was here about a ...

Re: Animation Help: Object Rotation without pauses
Hey I noticed that you guys figured this out, but thought I would add some visuals to this. I was having the same problem in Max (a 360 deg looping animation that would stop and start again), and the answer is the same to both, after I looked at one of Cyan's max files.

Re: Volcanoes, check it out.
Not like you're thinking. The Unreal SDK or UDK (that's what it's users call it), is really for making your very own game.
Artist wise, it's a lot easier to use, and much more powerful to me. Programming and scripts wise.......UDK scripting is like Java scripting. Not impossible to learn, but if ...

Re: Volcanoes, check it out.
Hey guys, sorry I don't really hang out in anything Uru anymore, but wanted to just quickly share what it was I was goofing off with.
Volcanoes come in several types, but are basically catagorized by their eruption types.
Lava oozing from it, like in Hawaii is one type.
