This is a really exciting project, I'm having loads of fun just exploring (though I'd love the ability to write ages too! Same username over there).
My one pony request (that is probably not entirely reasonable) would be a way to in some way include images in worlds. I know, I know, this is text ...

Re: Personal Update
Woohoo, moose-hunting!
The Starry Expanse also has less to worry about as far as spoilers go, since I bet almost everyone who's interested enough in the project to notice the Twitter feed has already played Riven.

Re: Personal Update
Yeah--I'm sure that maintaining internal focus right now is more important than worrying about PR, but even a wordpress blog with the occasional tiny-and-obscured-screenshot or status update would be way better than a dead forum

Re: Personal Update
I'm so glad to hear that Ilathid is coming along! With the forum dead, I'd feared the worst.

Re: From my hands
2) Developing 'Tolkien' content is probably much faster than developing Ages. Developing Ages or tools can take months; and that is the core of our activity. I'm not sure what the Tolkien peeps do; but I'd guess that most of their projects are much less time consuming. Faster projects mean more ...

Re: From my hands

Re: Breldur, my new age
I'm sure I'm sounding like a broken record, but the texturing and just the overall feel of the stuff you're building is so great
Can't wait to walk around in it!

Looking for a sample project with prerendered images
Has anyone put together some kind of explorable environment intended for static (Riven-like) exploration but never got around to doing the programming to link the images together? I know that The Future TM is probably multiplayer realtime 3D awesomeness, but I'm playing around with making a toolkit ...

Re: Exporting as Obj
Just to get a mesh from one blend file to another, you don't need to export as obj. Look into the "append" command (if you import as an "object" rather than "mesh", iir,it should copy all relevant data that obj might not even be able to store). Unless you've already tried that and found an issue ...
