Colour and alpha values of selected vertices can also be edited directly in the mesh modifiers 'Surface Properties' rollout.
You can also clear, copy and paste these, and other channels in the Tools->ChannelInfo dialog.

RT lights won't affect static meshes unless you have specularity enabled, the light is animated or you force them to, which can be achieved several ways.

Yes, it's extremely useful. :)
Character animation is typically performed by animating an underlying skeleton not the mesh.
While I haven't yet tried, it may also be possible to skin the skeleton and hack together new clothing items.

Yes, but we need the source.
There was major breaking changes in the max sdk at version 9 and all plugins needed to be recompiled.

Is your age file in the dat folder of the client directory you specified in PlasmaMAX2.ini?
