This could have been avoided if they had gone the id Software method. id releases the source to their own engine with the legal stipulation that you can't use it with the retail data files unless you own them. They're still around, and they've benefited from the community being able to dip their ...

1. The engine can be rewritten to use XNA. Most of what would be needed is the content pipeline info... (That's the plugin.)
2. The 360 has a chat-pad available that plugs into the front of it so you can chat online, so no part of the game would have to be sacrificed.

I have. I tried both single and dual channel. It made no difference. Dual channel wavs btw are those split into two files with -Left and -Right extensions. My guess is that static 3d sounds need the dual channel wav setup.

I'm not 100% sure about Uru, but most games use mono sounds for positional ...

I got nothing other than the e-mail letting me know I had registered it and where to download. Since Caligari is now a Microsoft subsidiary I doubt you'll get anything you won't be able to easily opt out of.
