Yeah, they use a completely different (way newer) server and client. It's probably the newer client that makes most of the difference here, not the newer server.

I don't think anyone sent me updates for Veelay Tsahvahn and Tiam so them not having been updated is hopefully not my fault.

I don't have any explanation for how an age should be "stuck" like that -- the rendering of textures is entirely client-side so nothing the server does should make any difference here. Very strange. But I am seeing the same thing even on my Linux box... so it also seems unlikely to be a driver issue.

This is because Minkata uses some Python trickery to control which part of the age is loaded when, and so sometimes (in particular if you have high network latency) the floor you stand on isn't loaded early enough.
