Re: Terrain modelling

Interesting thread.

I remember that I once build a complete terrain (plateaus, hills, valleys, river channels) using Sculptris.
This was back in 2009/2010, when the first beta came out. Although most examples of it's usage are based on working with a sphere, it was also possible to start with a ...

Re: Denkasen !

I'm not revealing the "secret" here as well, but hey, the Age itself looks quite pleasing where it comes to lighting and foliage.
The rocks also look great.

Did you do the lightmapping using Korman's method, or did you use your own?

Edit: Oh yes, suggestions...
well, you could add a beach canteen ...

It's located in the tool window you get when pressing T while the mouse pointer is over the 3D window.

Re: Korman 0.01 Released!

Try copying the cube and deleting the original. This has fixed things for me on a few occasions. Not sure why it does that, but the GoW knows about that bug. :D
Well, that fixed it - in a way. I don't link out now, but panic linking doesn't do its job. I fall and fall and fall through the cube ...

Re: Korman 0.01 Released!

Ookay. Did my first Age as described in the Getting Started chapter.

Hella yes, it works!
Although I got problems when I add the panic link cube; it's located far below the plane, got the scale & rotation applied, but as soon as I link in, the avatar panic-links out immediately. He did not even ...

Re: Korman 0.01 Released!

Personally I find it depressing at times, but the ol' PyPRP certainly didn't encourage people to start (or continue) building Ages ! That's why upgrading the tools is important too ;)
Yeah. I hope this new tookset will make Age writing with Blender what it's supposed to be: writing .
The old PyPRP ...

Did this spoiler image (indeed damn good) already make use of the automatic lightmap generation, Doobes?

(And thank you for writing those wiki entries.)

Re: Korman 0.01 Released!

Wow, that's interesting news!

Honestly, I'm surprised the development still goes on. I thought it had come to an end and Korman will never appear, since less people are working on Ages than years ago. My apologies, I was wrong. Good that I was. ;)

Hell, you did it!
The feature list may look short ...

Re: Increase visual quality in Fan-Ages !

This is gorgeous, Sirius. I'm impressed, really impressed.

As a person who has used lighting, lightmaps and vertex painting to the extreme, I know what proper lighting can add to an Age. Unfortunately this takes about 90% of work on an Age.
But I would never have expected that it's possible to add ...

Re: Escher's Relativity is doable

Yes, I know, I know. You all are still waiting for the new sources to be published.

I'm not dead yet, but still a bit ill. My apologies, Iain. (My foot is getting better, but before I reached the point where a could shout "life's wonderful", I damaged my knee - and my mood lowered too. I don't ...
