Is the Shard down? Myself and my friend in Wisconsin both have tried to get on over the past few days with no success. I stop at the first screen and the app just hangs on Connecting...... I apologize if this has been addressed in another thread that I may have missed.

I was just about to list (5 or 6 steps) a detailed workaround to the full screen problem that allowed me to get into the game but the hot fix resolved the issue for now. Thanks to Tsar Hoikas !

My buddy Rocketdog and I just did the upgrade and when we launch we are just getting a black screen. If you kill the screen with task manager, I see the user name and password screen. If I launch again, I get the black screen again but can hear the Cyan theme. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Calista, it worked for me. I have not had one crash during the update process since I made the change diafero mentions. Like you, I am running IE9 with WIN7.
