The Gehn Shard crashed on Sunday and has been down since. Surely someone else has noticed by now. Can anyone tell us what happened and when we might expect to find it back up and running?

Thanks for the quick response. Killing the animations does work like a charm, and yes I've already found out the hard way that Win 7 compatibility mode is necessary to get URU to run online.

Recognizing that, like much of the fan-base URU effort, Gehn is a work in progress and progress is going to be at a snail's pace. But it is not simply impatience that leads me to observe that there is little evidence of activity on this shard. I have yet to find more than one other explorer present ...

So what you're telling me is that I need to buy a different copy of Myst V from some other source and try again. Perhaps this problem should be highlighted at some point (or several points) in the forum documentation. I can't say that I'm too concerned with plunking down another $15 or so to try ...
