This time I'm going to follow the installation steps as usual, but I won't install the KI patch yet. I believe that might be causing the problem.
Also since I have Windows Vista and cant choose 7 as compatibility, going to see what XP SP2 does.

Re: Windows 8 running URU: CC or Deep Island
Diafero, curious am I understanding you now that the shard should be installed "as in using the uru.exe file" (first) separately, (then) overlapped it with the CC game that was copied to the Saved Games folder?
Doesnt sound right, but just checking if I understand.

Age building still active these days?
I'm an artist, and have always been a gamer.
I've playing all the Myst games on PC most of my childhood to young adult life. After URU started going downhill since, my activity in all game has been very slim, but I want to get back at it. In fact, I still seem to have the mental map of all games ...

Re: About DI Installation to Steam CC
I think I figured out what i did wrong. I was patching the new install from the guide instructions, and realized the part at the end:
Once your setup is working, you can start customizing it with features such as the Offline KI and Drizzle or even turn it into a Shard client (for the Deep Island ...
