Re: Myst Island in VR.

If anyone is still checking this thread, open-sourcing the Myst Island VR might not be a bad idea. I know some people in the VR community have been disappointed with, for instance, a lack of good home environments.

Re: Idea: Play Plasma from another engine

Haven't played Oculus Medium (I have a Vive) so couldn't say, but promo material suggests not--there's a post the creator made saying SculptrVR is like Oculus Medium, but for your phone and with multiplayer. Some of the forum discussion on it suggests it's better at handling data and doing fine ...

Re: Idea: Play Plasma from another engine

This may not be directly relevant, but I ran across a VR tool called SculptrVR. http://www.sculptrvr.com/ It allows you to mold things in large scale, then shrink yourself down so you can carve out more detailed work, all in 3D. I started making the Myst Island on a whim, and though I'm not a ...

Re: Idea: Play Plasma from another engine

I should really look around more on this site. I just myself got a VR system, and was incredibly excited about the potential SteamVR's home system posed for importing Ages. Apparently it used to take Blender files but now is geared to Valve's Source engine, though I also heard that Unity could be ...

Re: A New Cavern: Myst Ages in SteamVR

That's true. But I feel it's only a matter of time until the headsets become more widespread.

In a larger sense, I feel this would be a good way to bring in more people to the Myst/Uru community, while giving the Writers here a wider audience for their Ages. I mean, we have some great environments ...

A New Cavern: Myst Ages in SteamVR

I haven't been here in a while, but I hit on something today that fascinates me and I think has absolutely breathtaking potential for the Guild.

I've been following VR tech a bit recently (if you haven't, find a Microsoft Store or a Gamestop that offers a demo and TRY IT), and finally acquired my ...

Re: Would it work to set up a DevART account?

"Relativity" is now up on the DevART page, and my goodness it was a lot of work just to try to get a comprehensive and cohesive gallery of that age. But it's fascinating. You should totally take a look. http://dni-guild-of-writers.deviantart.com/gallery/

Re: Would it work to set up a DevART account?

Excellent shots of the Pub!

By the way, I notice you've left the cursor in many of these screenshots. You may want to wait until it fades out before taking the capture (or hold down the right mouse button which hides it immediately). It feels somewhat sloppy to have it floating there in your ...
