Yep! :)
This is why I suggested trying to use simpler geometry for casting shadows, if possible, in the same way we do for collisions. Don't know whether it is feasible.

...as far as baked shadows are concerned ...

That would be just a regular animation, if I am understanding you right -- a global animation is one that has its length "stretched" to fit the day cycle of the age.

I'm not sure how to do what you propose, with your baked shadows...

Probably irrelevant in your situation, but one thing worth keping in mind, in these dark arts, is to make sure that any static meshes that are to blend and are part of different objects, is to place the origins of both objects at the exact same spot in world-space, to minimise the levels of ...

As for PyPrp; It doesn't do normal maps at all - my attempts were with PRPShop, both with- and without some groundwork (setting up layers for modifying) first done in a pyPRP export.

And it looks right in game? (I've never been able to discern anything in Kemo - I guess one should be able to spot effects on directional texels during the times that the lightposts go on or off and when there is a lightning flash, but it's all happens so suddenly.) :7
