Wiki log in problem

Postby Jennifer_P » Mon Apr 21, 2008 10:32 pm

So I'm on the wiki, trying to view the page "Linking Books and Journals - An Introduction" and I get this message: "The action you have requested is limited to users in the group user." I figured that probably meant that I wasn't logged in, so I tried typing in my forum log-in name ("Jennifer_P") and password and voila! "You have not specified a valid user name." Hm, okay, maybe I need to create a separate account for the wiki after all. I click on the link called "Click here to create an account"...and it links me to the forum main page.
Well, I guess the last thing I could try would be to make a new account on the forum just for accessing the wiki, but that wouldn't be a terribly great solution. Anybody know what's up? Does the wiki not like underscores or something? :|

There is nothiing in the wiki about Journals ... that link is a "blank" holding page waiting for someone to write it ...
when it comes to Age creation ... "DOH" seems to be my middle name...

She should still be able to view it. She should also be able to edit it since she has a GoW forum account. It appears as if it is locked.

It actually seems like all the pages are 'locked'. Either the user base isn't propagating from the forum to the wiki or the permissions have been changed to something other than forum members.

My forum login works for the wiki. Being logged in to the forum doesn't log you in automatically to the wiki though. You have to do that manually.
I don't know why that did not work for Jennifer_P. However, if you do not plan to contribute to the wiki it is not necessary to log in. As boblishman said, that link would still be blank.
