FCA license panel: any Writer volunteers?

General debates and discussion about the Guild of Writers and Age creation

The idea that if you're on the panel, you can't vote on one of your own projects or Ages was made, and seemed to be accepted by all.

Term limits is also the idea, this panel is by no means perminate, nor long term.

No Jennifer, hehe, the panel does not decide based upon astetics of the Age. Only copyright problems, obscene things, story line conflict, bugs / crashing problems. That's all they are allowed to work on. If the giant crystals case a Age to crash, are a storyline conflict, are a copy of something from another game, or are in the shape of certain body parts, then yah, you could base it on THAT..... :D

I think I could do a turn or two on the panel as well if needed.
One day I ran through the cleft for the fiftieth time, and found that uru held no peace for me anymore.

I don't mean to spoil everyone's fun but I think there are some problems currently (which are relevant now rather than after everyone's cozy on the panel).

Also, I feel like this is premature--why do we need this yet (MORE isn't even out... and after that it'll take a while for fan ages to arrive)?

Another thing I was wondering is when/how will you test these ages: ages change, they become unstable/stable, the story evolves. The age you plan to make is usually always different from the age you end up creating. At what point in age-development do you folks plan to "sample" the ages?

This is turning into a production that it doesn't have to be. It's hard enough just to _communicate_ between guilds let alone stand side-by-side and decide the fate of an age. Why do we need 3 different view-points to execute plain and simple laws set down by Cyan? This isn't judging, this isn't even open for interpretation: this is like following a black line on a white floor.

All that aside: the result of having 9 people from 3 guilds (one of which is just aka DPWR and just recently been made into a guild) means longer wait time for each person that applies for one of these FCAL's.

Ok, a simple question on my part: do all the members of the panel have to be present for the FCAL to be given.

If this is true then this mean we have 9 chances for things to go bad. This will become a squeaky, badly-oiled, machine of despair in no time at all (I'm hoping that this happens before we actually need you folks for MORE so things can be fixed) IMO.

I do not mean to be difficult but this is nagging at me and I thought you might like to know my thoughts on the current system.

I'm trying to raise valid points here rather than pull fire out of hats (like lots of difficult people on forums) so please consider these points carefully before labeling me as a troll among other things.

I think it would be best to discuss it here.
