I did use to think anything could be done to create a link, such as drinking something? :|
This seems like a cool game. So from this room I can go anywhere I want? Kirel? Sure I'll go there. Hey, free T-Shirts! Ah ha! This must be the best one, it's farther away! Hey, cool website! So what exactly is an age?

How likely is it that one could tear our the pages from an unfinished descriptive book, and shove them in another, and have an age stable enough to live in?

The question of how stable is unknown. (We don't really know the cause of Gehn's Age's instability in terms of style, except for a few hints.) But it is known that you can tear pages out of books and put them back, so it's reasonable to imagine they could be placed inside of other books and meld into those ones instead. An interesting question...

I am working on a story that would allow for books paintings tapestries carpets whatever.

The catalyst is in the chemestry of the beetles used to make the ink and the age link is formed when the writer concentrates on the age as he/she writes the book/paints picture using the said ink.

The Bharo link because they're insectiverous and still have acess to an insect source.

Removing pages from a book stops it being a cohesive whole i.e. the pages need to be in the right order and alignment thats why the D'ni had age books and linking volumes damage to a linking volume would break its contact with the master age book but not damage the age or it's book.

Sticking pages into another book would be like taking a section of code from a program and sticking it in another or taking a chapter from "War and Peace" and dropping it into "Catch22" or "MASH" where a chapter had been removed all based in war stories but non of them would become a new cohesive story.

I am not saying it would not work just that the chapters would need to be very selective a self contained chapter that described an island in an ocean would behave the same in any story that contained an ocean at a location with no contact with any place beyond the horizon.
