Yeah, this is true not only for this reason, but also because sometimes something doesn't work at all online, though it does offline. (The UamKiPlugin's /reset command does help a lot with the first reason.)

Or on Cyan designed shards (UU/MOUL) where fan ages would become personal instances by default. Adrael and DRA Office btw are fully multiplayer compatible.

Isn't there a setting on Alcugs shards to do an automatic reset of an Age when all players have exited?

Even then, many fan Ages have bugs such that they simply don't work in multiplayer, unfortunately. But everything works offline for them all!

Yes, but that doesn't include the part of the state that is stored in the vault, unfortunately. That's why I wrote the /reset command into the UamKiPlugin: to reset the Age Devices folder, the Age SDL(different than the gameserver's SDL, confusingly), the Age Chronicles, and the Player Chronicles that are specified as being for that Age.
