the clothing SDL is... special. I made it work in PlasmaClient, but I never really understood it.

Interesting indeed. :)

I see they also can use references to other state descriptions; works like typedef for structures in C. Interesting concept.

(Now thinking how I can make (mis)use of it, and when, lol)

Think about "clothingItem" and "appearanceOptions" just to define structures, and "clothing" reserving the real storage - and I'm sure you will. ;)

I was relieved when Alcugs finally parsed and streamed all those weird SDL formats correctly. Since then I avoid touching the code ;-)
Alcugs supports all types that are mentioned in a POTS SDL file... Hoikas, you forgot to mention RGB values :D
