Kierra's Aerie Age is working.

Postby andylegate » Wed Dec 05, 2007 8:18 am

Hey everyone. After talking to Kierra about her Aerie age, I've gotten to where it can be downloaded on the Maintainer's ULM database. And it's working fine. First I made sure to UNZIP the Gzip files and loaded it up on Mustard Jeep's server.

Everything is just fine. It downloads through the ULM just great.

To see it, you'll need to change your ULM Settings to:

http://www.guildofmaintainers.org/Ages/Library.php5

Make sure you try to download Version 1.

@Kierra-
If you want, you can change the Mirror on the http://ulm.hbyte.net of your Age to the following and have it access the files here:

http://www.drivehq.com/file/df.aspx/pub ... eep/Aerie/

To All-
Mustard Jeep has been very generous in hosting my Age and also Kierra's. However there is a Bandwidth limit on Mustard Jeep's server. While MJ pays for this account, if the bandwidth goes to high, I think MJ has to pay more. MJ is not too concerned about it right now, but if it looks like it's going to go over, MJ will let us know.

PS. Both MJ and I still think the original problem is that Kierra's files are zipped up on Chacal's server.

And I think from readingt the logs themselves, that the problem lies with the @ sign in the username part of Chacals address.

I dare you to gzip the files again and try it out ! :D :D

Wow Kierra, you put some great work into this age. It really looks amazing. Somehow I get this feeling you like flowers?!? ;)

I love the details and the setting of this place all alone in this vast lake.

Hi Kierra,

your age looks great.
I think you have done a lot of work into this age.
So many details and all at the real place.... very nice.

The word "vegetarian" has an Indian origin and can be translated as: "the one who is too dumb to hunt".

Das Wort "Vegetarier" hat einen indianischen Ursprung und bedeutet übersetzt "Der zu blöd zum Jagen ist".

Wait, can we use http instead of ftp? Because it's even better for me, there's no need for an account.

Nope sorry. :D Yep apparently since it worked.

...

EDIT : That was a sarcastic "Nope", sorry 'bout that wasn't thinking on how everyone else probably would read "Nope sorry".....

/me hammers a yard sign into the ground reading "98% sarcasm" :oops:

Wasn't till my computer was off and I was half Zzz'ed out that I realized what I typed and what I was thinking were two different things. Thanks for the catch Trylon.

...

I took the easy way out and published the folder on my FTP giving it a http URL. Direct FTP access with none of that pesky username/password mess to slow you down.

Nifty huh? :)

Huh? Say Again.....

Trylon you will find some questions in your PM inbox. :roll: :lol:

Finally this is at Kierra

I'll dig out my scrub brush instructions later; Maybe Friday, but next time your in Relto look down at the scrub. The Big Bushes in your Age could use a bit of a Relto Scrub makeover. The basic idea behind it is arrange the textures in a rough outline of say a hexagon instead of crossing a single point in the center of the bush. It is a lot harder to make a "Good" looking bush with a stem in it using this method but when viewed from the side makes for a better bush.

@Kierra,

Here is a link to our forum over at the Maintainers. You'll see some of the comments and suggestions from people over there already on your Age:

Kierra since you expressed an interest over on our forum I'll get off my butt and start writing down what I know of grass, shrubs, and trees. No promises of speed records as I will be doing it as I try to build the plants for a Age I want to make, but I'll let you know if I manage a decent tutorial.

I've found documentation on how to build many of the plants in MO:UL except the pine trees, and I have a pretty good Idea how to make them I've just never tried.
