Multiplayer Ages

Should I even begin entertaining ideas for multiplayer Ages? Is this a design feature we may actually be able to implement at some point down the road?

Yes, absolutely.
The whole idea is to come out with multiplayer Ages that will eventually be included in MOUL.
Cyan has almost been clear on its intentions about that.

It would not hurt to make your Python code multiplayer ready from the start. For example, use PtWasLocallyNotified(self.key) where needed. And be very careful with PtGetLocalAvatar(). In an OnNotify() you will in most cases have to replace that with PtFindAvatar(events).

Whoa! Program-speak invading the general discussion forum ... LOL

Good. I have an idea slowly coming to fruition in my mind for a set of two or three Ages that would require at least two explorers to solve. The only problem is that it may be too ambitious to seriously consider for now. More on this later.

Now that I think about it, what I really meant to ask was: Will we be able to explore our Ages (i.e. test Ages with multiplayer puzzles) together during the process of building them? This is currently not possible, right?

Currently, there is no way to explore user created Ages online with others.

However, all Ages should always be coded for multiplayer use. It saves a lot of headaches in the future. ;)

The alcugs server source code is publicly available and has been for a long time. I'm not condoning any of this, but it was alway possible for alcugs to authenticate without the Cyan auth server... Also, the Path of the Shell's End User License Agreement says nothing about online usage.
