Opinion: Shrooms...

Postby andylegate » Sat Apr 26, 2008 8:48 am

Hey guys, let me get your opinions here on something. Mushrooms.

How do you like your shrooms? (and I don't mean sauted in butter!) We have of course some great examples of giant shrooms in Teledahn, and Kierra showed us some great ones in one of her Ages.

Now, what kind would you expect to find in an underground place like Ae'gura or the neighborhoods in Uru?

You have like the todstool kind and the shelf looking ones.....but really, what kind would you expect to see? Size? would they be colorful or dull looking?

I'm reminded of the glowing shrooms of Riven when I think of shrooms in Ae'gura and D'ni.

Maybe that's just me though :S If you want to see em, head to the Dagger on Jungle Island.

Ooooh, nice Boblishman! I've never seen anything like that before. :) Definitely gets the imagination going.

Thin, spindly, pale (but coloured) and lumiescent would be the cliche. :)
Of course fungi comes in all sorts of funki shapes, other than the mushroom form factor - something like those slimy strongly orange coral fungi things wouldn't look out of place to me. :7

I am now not so sure it is the Phallus impudicus but maybe the same family.

Further thanks for the site you linked to. It is standing now in my favorites. ;)
I am a fanatic schroomie lover but than the schroomies you can eat. In autum every eatable schroomie is in danger when I walked in the forest.

Further the schroomie from the picture and it's family are not so exciting for me

Hehehe,......that one looks a little complex for my meshing skills! :D

That is cool looking though! I don't think I've ever seen a shroom like that.

just make a deformed cone for the "net" ... then use a texture with alpha (for the holes) ... (I bet you have some great software for making that "net" texture ... ;))
