Becarful with converted MOUL Ages......

General debates and discussion about the Guild of Writers and Age creation

That last piece of advice has been repeated over and over again during the last months. Anyone who uses fan-created Ages, ULM, flymode, my own City imports or anything that modifies Uru, without first taking a backup of a clean install is asking for trouble.

For Drizzle, the process is actually very simple:
1- Take a backup of your current Uru files
2- Use Drizzle and convert your MOUL Ages
3- Play around your MOUL AGes
4- When finished, copy the changed files from your backup.

Also, what you're experiencing, Andy, has been described before. That "special effect" is not particular to MOUL converted Ages. I recall someone had great fun with mixing Ages as early as 3 years ago. An explanation was posted here recently, I just can't find it again.

Those look like the effects of renaming age files, which we did to get images like this: http://uru.patchallel.com/zardoz_images.htm . Probably two different routes to the same effect.

Ehren discovered something similar when he tested my Ahra Pahts paging prototype (see his post). The cause was ultimately traced to two PRP files having the same page name, given the PRP file name has the format ageName_District_pageName.prp. When a page is loaded (either through the normal load of an age or via an explicit call to PtPageInNode()), both are paged in, but only one is visible. When you visit other ages, the other one is visible (and stays visible until you exit).
Can we rebuild it? Yes, we can - here's how.
