General debates and discussion about the Guild of Writers and Age creation

On a side note - the First Age tutorial was written around the premise that one already had blender skills. That was mostly because it's intent is to show what makes a full-blown Age, not to teach modeling.
I fully agree that there should be a "Beginners Age" tutorial, so I'm glad you're willing to take that up.

Done, I think http://guildofwriters.com/wiki/Your_Very_First_Age and I took care not to repeat what others explained better before me :)

Looks excellent, from what I can see while scrolling through it.

WOW, Sophia! That new wiki page is super.

Well, let me tell you, young lady: You have just lost your Newbie Badge.
No more shuffling around with us grunts in the basement. You can read, write and fly.

Ah me. Pretty soon i will be left down here in the dark, all by myself. I did not even realize that we could (potentially) plug our little orchards and pigs into ULM and wander around using Uru technology. Such an exciting idea -- it may be only a 10 x 10 universe, but exciting, nevertheless.

Don't forget to hand your badge back to the troll at the door to the basement.

Pappou, you are definitely not alone. See that figure hiding in the shadows near the corner? That's me. I haven't even finished installing the tools yet and am still struggling with some sort of concept for what I want to create.

Sophia, I really do appreciate your primer. It will come in handy for all the writer wannabes out there who have never done any 3D modeling (like me).

Thank you,

Yeeeiii! Thank you, Sophia! So far I have not had the guts to try and export my dabbelings in Blender as a real age. Now (soon) I will give it a try. When it comes to this sort of things I am not even in the basement, I’m buried under the basement concrete. And there is no chance the troll would accept my badge if I try to give it back.

ROTFL! After seeing MY first attempts in Uru (that looked soooo good in Blender) I don't think ANYBODY would take away my newbie badge in a huge great hurry either, boyoboy there is a lot to creating something half decent LOL :D But I still think there is no greater reward than to admire my feeble attempts "for real"... it makes it all worthwhile somehow

BTW, I have updated the page to Blender 2.46, and I think it is a lot easier now to export ages.
