Neolbah - Test Run

General debates and discussion about the Guild of Writers and Age creation

Here is a URL link to download the latest release of Neolbah. It's pretty much done, except for updates, fixes and storyline changes in the future. It will be updated on the UAM on Drizzle later today:

http://www.guildofmaintainers.org/ftp/U ... eolbah.zip

New notes, and journals have been added. New images on the imager, and the laptop has a nice slide show on it.

Couple of puzzles for people to mess with to gain access to other parts of the Age.

Enjoy!

Okay, it's on UAM now, but I can't test it because of some hardware problems I'm having. Can someone see if they can link in okay via UAM?

I installed from UAM and tested it and it works fine for me. Looks great. :)
The word "vegetarian" has an Indian origin and can be translated as: "the one who is too dumb to hunt".

Das Wort "Vegetarier" hat einen indianischen Ursprung und bedeutet übersetzt "Der zu blöd zum Jagen ist".

The new Neolbah works great I like the Door Puzzle, Even tho I haven't got the door open yet, it is way too easy to find that combination for the switches and keypad...

There is a problem tho and it is not with the age UAM is notifying me that Drizzle 26 is available for download. But SourceForge does not show it...

Thanks for the feedback.

Yah, sorry about the simplicity of the puzzles, but they are the first ones I've attempted for an Age (I've spent most of the time with other Ages just making them try to look good and functional).

However, I didn't want to make people try to guess 6 or all 9 digits of the code. As it was, one of my beta testers had a heck of a time with it, because they didn't see one of the places where part of the code was written down, and was trying to figure out 6 digits....and they were getting VERY frustrated with the keypad resetting on them, hehehehehe.

Oh hooray say I,
More of Neolbah's Open!
But Uru objects,
And decides it is broken.

I link to Relto
My Offline Ki is gone!
Can't check Neolbah...
Am I the only one?

(I'm bad at poems...)

Anyway, I'd love to check out this excellent area, but I have somehow managed to break Uru to the point where none of the buttons at the bottom of the screen work, the Offline Ki is gone and the only function key to work is F3 which displays the Relto book. :(

"Try moving the slider to the left...."

Hehehe.

Seriously though: Always have a clean backup install of Uru somewhere, so that if things go wrong (and things can go HORRIBLY wrong), you've got a back up you can copy over quickly.

Keep in mind that a lot of the "tools" we use (OfflineKI, Drizzle and the UAM, and even Fan Ages) are things that are not 100% guaranteed to work. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to reinstall Uru and all the tools, hehehehe.

You could try using Drizzle to redownload the OfflineKI and reinstall it and see if that helps. Or wait for other ideas to be posted.

Or, if you're in a hurry, you can always reinstall Uru and the tools for it.

Andy what you have just said should be emblazoned in letters 10 feet tall.

Back up Your Files

I maintain on a Separated outboard SATA Drive a Backup of my current Drizzle Install and virgin Copies of other Cyan Programs. Lately I added a clean virgin POTS and URU CC Install, which I should have had to begin with. On my Laptop I have my Drizzle Install and my Work Age (run from a USB Thumb Drive) and those have been reinstalled several times. Praise be to the backup..

Yes....something that I .....DO NOT do!!!! And I REALLY paid for it a few months ago when my HD crashed and I had to upgrade to Windows 7. I lost EVERYTHING for my Ages and had to start from scratch again.

So yes, people should really, REALLY back up their files, hehehe.

External SATA hard drives are readilly available. On Ebay I picked up a Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black SATA Hard Drive - OEM and a Thermaltake MAX 4 Active Enclosure for a total bid of $80.. My Laptop has an outboard SATA Port so it plugs right in. But if you don't have a SATA Port I have seen Dual SYBA SATA ExpressCards (54 mm) for under $25

So there is really no excuse...
