Link in Point moved a little bit up.
Some Credits clean ups in Journal.
Plus added Cover for book and linking panel.

AgeMapsGallery2.zip

Thank you very much for cover and panel :) . However, I can not download that file, it always gives me a server timeout... :(
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.

When I was part of a different community (we made adventure games) there was a contest that produced some amazing games, often on a level that previously was only theoretical. It was a "team" contest, where you got together a small group of people and you made a game over the summer.

Now, I'm not suggesting that there should be a new contest right away, but I don't know if the organisers have ever considered a team format before. :)

I, too, come from another community that makes adventure games. From what I've read of history, that community only really took off when (1) there was a freely-available tool to make games, with a full-sized game made in it and deliberately in the style of that one commercial game company that everyone loves; and (2) there was an annual competition specifically for small games -- their rule was that each entry be playable in two hours; an analogous rule here might be one room.

Of course, it also took ten years after everyone's favorite game company died. I hope that will not be the case here.

Aaaah, Infocom. :)

I'm actually referring to the AGS (Adventure Game Studio) community, who make games similar to classic Sierra and Lucasarts games.

Thanks everyone who participated for giving the community some great new areas! :D The least I can do in return is to give some feedback. :)

Congratulations, rustee, on winning the contest. Vothol really stands out because of its original style. The buildings in Ae'gura like the Tokotah, the Museum and the Guild hall are odd shaped as well, and Vothol really fits that line. It could easily be somewhere in the Guild Hall (although the lake water would need some explanation then). The metal framed symbols remind me of Kadish's Gallery. Is there a connection perhaps? After all, Kadish was a Guild Master once.

Whilyam has managed to make the most frightening fan-made Age in my opinion! Each time I visit, I almost expect Sholek to appear from around the corner with creepy snakes planted in his arms. :o :o One really feels like he's being watched, just like in Riven, which I think is a remarkable accomplishment. The music, that fits well in Uru, also adds to that feeling. The auditorium looks really well and has the right atmosphere. The place really looks like it's in D'ni and I liked to read the development entry about it on Inkwell. I hope we'll be able to get up once, where Sholek would have appeared in the auditorium.

I think Fehnir's house is my favourite. It's small, but its textures are rich. The Linking Book (with hand palm) is beautifully textured, and the desk and the scribbled papers look very real. The colour scheme looks great... I like the rug. :) The back story makes the area come alive.

Justin's Age is the biggest one and it's nice to explore all of the rooms. It would be nice, however, if there was some information on what the area was used for and what the pump is doing.

Unfortunately I didn't see much of the Age Maps Gallery! What I saw looked nice, but I kept falling through the floor at certain spots! Was that just me or perhaps only on Deep Island or is it a known issue?

Yeah, it's a know issue. This problem is quite dificult to solve becouse I as an author didn't manage to reproduce it on my computer.

Actually there is a commentary journal on the desk that explains everything about the place ;)

It's a very mysterious bug. Sometimes I have the bug on DI, sometimes all is fine and I can walk around.
I talked in Teamspeak with 2 people who reached AgeMapsGallery together; one can walk around, the other falled through the floor near the linkingpoint. One of this people is the agebuilder Rich and he means, perhaps it has something to do with the soundregion by the linkingpoint but I do not know enough to understand that correctly and Rich speaks no english.
Perhaps this helps you a little bit.

I did check my blend file one more time and I think I found it. In Bounds I was having "Cone" instead of "triangle mesh"

EDIT: And here is hopefully working good version.

Thanks for updating, Egon.
Offline it works for, I will put it on Deep Island shortly.
