Yes, I remember us doing that at Guilds Meetings during the GT days. It did work quite well, but only if the people cooperated. nothing you can do about that except try to proceed with the meeting.

Yah, GoMa is quiet.....but not a ghost town. I logged in the other day and we had like 15 guests there, heh. All reading the tutorials.

On regards to Fan Storylines, I remember the fiasco during UU. Very few people back then wanted them.

On GoMA, I have been busy of late, Andy. I promise as soon as I can I will dig into the growing pile of ages ready to be inspected.

For those that remember the headdy days of UntilUru and H'uru Shard there was an embedded fan story running in Beta test thats been on hold since Cyan announced D'mala and what was to be the GameTrap fiasco. There was also a point when Cyan announced the pulling of the Authentication server when it was accidentaly made open house on "The Meeting Place" shard.

The Beta embeded 31,000 words of story (the first six chapters) released in single chapter chunks about 5,000 words a chapter.

This now extended storyline currently sits at about 100k words the backup is sitting in some of that private space over at GoMA and Ok it does need some polish (actually quite a lot) and a some tweeking (actually quite a lot of that as well) in the light of

a) The stuff Cyan has put out since D'mala. (Thats all the stuff embedded in MOUL now MOULa)

and

b) The age I have been writing to host it. (That would be Enobmort)

c) the fact that when it was written the UserKI was the norm.

There was some considerable work done by D'Lanor to embed the project as a python addition to Until Uru. Enobmort has been stalling for the want of a Python Guru.

There was a lot of work put into this project real storyline with a delivery system that ('s dead in the water) worked.

The point I am making is we did it once and can do it again but the Tools,Method to add it to MOULa do not at this time exist untill they do whatever storyline you create is destined to languish in obscurity come and join me. It's a peaceful age where nothing happens. :D

(That last bit as satire BTW it's sometimes not recognised.

Yes BAD it is the Walker Project that you designed a shirt for.

P.S. I have been thinking we have ages we can add to Uru CC now competed ages ages that run we have done them without this Studio3dMax stuff that Cyan have been promising us all we need is a method to access one linking book in the guild where we get to our Nexus.

This stuff should run on MOULa whats actually stopping it? What does it need that is in MOULa thats not in CC we can port MOULa stuff to CC and Myst V for that matter. What is in a MOULa age thats not in a Blender built Fan Age.

What am I missing here?

The reason why fan ages are not running on MOULa is because Cyan hasn't enabled us to add fan created content.

As to why PyPRP can't export directly to MOULa:
Comparing MOULa and UruCC, MOULa has very few new features. The main reasons that PyPRP can't export to MOULa are because; at this point exporting to MOULa is useless, and adding MOULa capability to the messing, aging piece of software we call PyPRP is not worth the effort of the team. PyPRP2, the successor of PyPRP will have MOULa support.

At the present moment, we, as fans, have little of no technical issues creating content for MOULa, as libHSPlasma enables us to convert ages in the Uru CC format to the MOULa format. Cyan's plugin is not necessary for age creation in MOULa format.

That is just theory, right? Or has support for the PhysX baked data been added now? As far as I was aware there was still some kind of reluctance to add PhysX support, which makes any "conversion" useless for the present MOULa.

Apart from physics, mostly everything works. I wouldn't say useless without physics though. :P

Meh; Physics are overrated anyway.. We can have Ages without those. The panic link feature has been made for a reason right? ;)

Sorry to point out a simple missunderstanding here I never considered we would be able to directly export to MOULa only that the files must be reasonably MOULa compatable.

To a point where it should not take much to add new server content even if that was a Cyan link to some external age repossitary. From what I can gather has been said here, is a stage we are not that far away from.
