Well I personally give up at least for now. Been trying to get in off and on all day today, but have been stuck at checking for patcher update each time. When Cyan has the issues with the server fixed someone please let me know.

*ahem* after some restarts I can get in just fine. check your taskmanager every time you close it and restart, restart, restart.... it worked for me, and everything else runs stable. even the cavern had no lag. with 30 people. wth.

Actually thats how I close the launcher out is in Task Manager. So I know that each time I start it its not hanging because of a prior instance still being loaded.

Shoot I even left for a few hours this afternoon, during that time I turned off my computer and when I got home turned it back on. One of the first things I did when I turned my computer back on was load the Launcher, it stayed right at Checking for patcher update. So the Launcher still being loaded is not the problem.

restart. restart again. I think chogon mentioned something like this happens because you are put on a queue or something, but I cannot find the post right now.
anyway, spamming restart HELPS. start, wait for 3 secs, when nothing happens, restart. it may took you 10 tries, but you can get in.

...I know it sounds somehow stupidXD

EDIT: the message you are waiting for is "connecting to server"/"checking for updates".

I have seen the connecting to server sometimes. It will start Checking for patcher updates, go to connecting to server for all of 2 seconds and go back to Checking for patcher updates.

I believe Uru Live again some how may be a big part of Open Source, a first step, perhaps they’re waiting to see how this works out. In fact it may be a major player in the open source decision making process. The donations for instance their all going toward the Uru Live Again project and there is a chance that when the server stabilize, maintaining them becomes less labor intensive and the donations keep pouring in, they may go for what I believe will be the second part of the Uru Live again project which very well may be open source. Of coarse this is all just speculation, although considering the servers where acting like yo-yo’s for three days as far as going up and down I’m no expert but it sounds very labor intensive just to keep them running.

In any case I believe that we are all one step closer to open source So lets make the best of it and do what we can to prepare.

Some had also problems with the fact that x.866 was not updated to x.868... anyway, try the official support threads. Of course I can only talk about my own experience with that.

I uninstalled and downloaded the installer from FilePlanet. Then started trying your suggestion Rainforce. I managed to get in twice last night.

There looks like there either is a timeout in place or the server gets stressed after an hour, both times I was in the Bahro Cave and crashed to desktop.

Thats good they are able to do that. With the lag issues fixed lets hope there will be no more hiccups from here on out.
