Greetings, I come bearing pics.

Hello Everyone,

I've been watching and learning from the forums for a while now. Originally I was going to wait till I finished my first age, but Jojon's recent post To: The Silent Majority convinced me that being timid doesn't really help anyone. So, I want to officially join the guild.

I have previous experience in 3D, but I'm new to Blender. The transition for me has been a lot harder than I thought, but I'm staring to get the hang of it. As kind of an offering, I've included a pic from the age I'm working on. It's not big and I'm still getting all the detail I want into it, but it's getting closer.

At the moment I'm calling it Beacon as my D'ni is lousy. It's basically a temple structure located on a pinnacle of rock in a dark sea. The glowing orb acts as a beacon to the dark ocean, hence the name. Eventually, I want to add a tunnel leading down through the rock and out to one of the smaller rocks, but for the moment I'm focusing on getting this one area done. Then I'll probably put out a release.

Oo! That *is* lovely. I certainly can't wait to see the rest of your Age! Be sure you bring it over to the Maintainers for a thorough inspection when you're done.

Thank you Andy I'm very fond of your work as well. :)

I plan to. ;) That does bring up a question I had though. I was planning to release it in stages, with each stage opening up a new area. The idea is that I don't have to complete the entire age before I'm ready to release it. Should I submit each stage to the Maintainers, or wait till it's complete and limit the stage releases to the GoW? :?:

I'll remember that when you guys all roll over from all the stupid programming questions I'm soon to have. ;)

If you bring it, we will test it. :D You can do it whichever way you want. If you'd like us to test the stages, we certainly will be happy to! If you'd like us just to test it when you're done, that's fine too. Just speaking from personal experience, I actually prefer to do the testing in stages so that stuff can be corrected quickly and you don't have a mountain of fixes to do at the end. But that's just my preference, and maybe you prefer the other way. Whatever you choose, we'll be glad to work with you!

Looks real nice, greendragon!! /me cheers ! Looking forward to test it - and as Jishin said, you do as you prefer with the releases. But beware, we're a hard gang of bug-chasers over at GoMa :D No, just kidding, we're a nice gang :) but serious in our attempt to find all bugs where ever they are

It sounds like you guy are really anxious to get some ages into the approval proccess. I'll try and have stage 1 done as soon as possible. :)
