Borked age

Maybe someone out there can help me. One of my ages, which previously was working fine, now doesn't want to load. I have deleted the sav file for it, deleted the age files and installed new exported ones, deleted the save file yet again. Nothing seems to effect it. THe moment it loads it crashes right to the desktop. Any thoughts?

Don't laugh, but.....

Open up the ULM. Delete it from your book shelf. Then move it over to DIFFERENT slot on your book shelf, and try again.

I've had this problem before and this fixed it.

No Go Andy, tried your suggestion, still crashes right to my desktop. The windows error log doesn't recognize the error either. not surprising.

Have you installed any new ages between the time when this one was working and stopped working? It could be a sequence prefix conflict. (a common cause of this problem)

Do you remember what you have changed in the Age since the last time it worked? If you do, make a back up of your Age, remove the changes from the Age and export it again. At least you'll know if the problem come from those last changes.

Off topic: Also I have added Andy's solution to the FAQ.

Or maybe you just installed PyPRP 1.4.0? Then you will have to disable Shadbuf in all your object materials to stop them from casting shadows. Having all objects cast shadows is just too much for most GPUs.

I didn't change much in the age. Just retextured the island. The old one was all kinds of screwed up with the textures. To many UV layers and I didn't feel like trying to fix them all so I simply deleted all the textures and redid the whole mass, separating it into three different meshes than retextured them individually.

D'Lanor's suggestion makes sense, as the file was exported using 1.4, as the old landmass still had shadbuf on.

It could be something as simple as a sequence prefix conflict, try removing all the Ages from Relto with ULM and just re-registering your Age again
