[SftSoK] Supervising Director Wanted!

The problem: Mystified Explorer and I are having trouble both meeting our own deadlines and setting deadlines for other team members. Oftentimes we feel uninspired and although we always believe in the project, individual goals get very little inspiration from us.

What we need: Someone to come in and evaluate our work and set meaningful deadlines for us and put us on a time schedule that can see our Fall 2009 release date as a reality. This person would also often function as a sounding board. This person would have no creative control in and of themselves (ME and I are still the highest authorities, creative decision-wise). They would facilitate work being done and instigate assignments between all departments. If needed they could fill other roles (like recruiter) as well.

Requirements: Someone who we can be in touch with within a few days at any given time, preferably someone who is well versed in instant-messaging and frequently available. Someone who can evaluate work and set meaningful deadlines. Someone who can facilitate transfers of assets and setting of deadlines between all departments and teams. Someone who can work with Team Leaders and, of course, Project Directors (myself and ME). Basically someone who can supervise us, set deadlines, and help with communication.

This person also needs to be committed to making this project all it can be, and available in the capacity we have listed for the next year, excepting unforeseen personal circumstance.

If you are interested, we want to talk to you about it. PM myself or Mystified Explorer or post here.

Hi Kato,

Could you be more specific about the expected time involved?

We expect to release the game in the Fall of 2009, probably in October or late September. You would be expected to perform your duties until then (excepting, of course, unforeseen personal circumstance).

As for the day-to-day time you'd be spending, it probably wouldn't be too great, but we would need you to be in frequent contact with the team.

Kato ok... well sounds like a great job and I am really considering taking it up. Is there anything documented sofar? Like who is participating, doing what or has done what? What are running projects and how do they relate? Or would it be part of the job to document all this?
