Blender Interface and Mac 10.5

This might actually belong in the "Builders" section, but I'm not actually at the point where I'm building anything.

I'm using Blender 2.49 on a MacBook Pro with OS 10.5 installed. I've had to use some of the work-arounds for things like the number pad and the three-button mouse, and they are not working quite as expected. Right-clicking on a toolbar, as the "noob to pro" tutorial says, should give me a menu that allows me to divide the windows on the screen. But the work-arounds that I've used, control-click and two-fingers-on-the-mousepad-click, give me a menu that allows me only to move the header to the top or bottom of a window, or remove the header completely. Control+number key should also orient my view to a particular point, but when I tried that, Blender replaced the cube that was in the field by default with a low-polygon sphere.

What's going on and how do I fix it?

The workaround for rotating the view is to hold CMD+number.

I believe CMD+click might also work for the mouse, but I haven't used Blender on a Mac for a while :P

Command-click has the same results as control-click. Command+number makes everything in the 3D view window vanish (which, as I understand it, has something to do with changing the layer).

Pressing a non-numpad-number without any modifier key will set the layer to that number, so if you just press "3" out of the blue, it'll switch to layer 3. You can switch back to layer 0 (the default) by pressing 0. Cmd clicking the header will give you the header menu, to get the menu for splitting panes, you need to cmd click while the cursor is directly over the dividing line between two panes. (on windows, the cursor changes to two arrows there)

As for the problem with rotation, you'll need to figure out what you can do to emulate a middle click on a mac. I'm not a mac user, so I have no idea.

If you open the user preferences, in the "System & OpenGL" section there is an "Emulate Numpad" button which will toggle the CM+number functionality for view rotation.

Never, mind, I managed to resolve these issues. Thanks everyone!
