Relto Pages?

General debates and discussion about the Guild of Writers and Age creation

Just an idea that popped in my head out of nowhere..
There's some heated discussion over at the UruLive forums about Age creation and that is good ;) but what about Relto pages creation?

That's something we haven't tackled so far because of technical limitations but if there's one place most people would like to customize it's without a doubt their own Relto.
All technical issues asside it'd be perfect, it doesn't need a story, because it is in a private area it doesn't affect the average user's game experience unless they want it. And it would be fast an easy to do.

How could those be distributed? Since they can't be placed in existing Ages.
In a perfect world maybe they could be shared online much like the Relto book. Ie: you flip through your relto book pages until you find the one you want, you click the 'share' icon on the page and you finally present your book to anyone who wish to click it..

Another solution would be to have them in a central depository in some custom Age (in a commercial shell in Ahra pahts maybe? ;) )

Or we could simply have them to be downloaded on a website.

But all those solutions have the same issue: if there are different pages, whenever you get a new one you'd have to update the relto .Age and .Sum files. hmm. Now that's an issue.

But most there could be conflicts between different pages.. several buildings in the same spot, things like that.. And you can't really solve that.

I'm not so sure it's a good idea in fact.. Too bad. <_<

we can not create relto pages

Cyan said we can not add to or use there story
we can not modify there ages and the only way to add relto pages is to modify Relto.

Yah I know; I should have labelled my post 'warning: ramlbing ahead' ;)

And that's too bad because creating Relto pages would be tons of fun.

Relto pages... Peice a cake!

Have your object(s), get your relto page, make SDL modifications, write python for it. Boom you have your relto page :)

Easier said than done tho.

Yes, and as has been noted, the legallity of it is probably more of a problem than the technical side.

If you wanted to, you could always make an 'imitation relto' fan age and apply the relto pages concept to it. B)

Actually I don't think the debate centers around Relto itself here but the pages instead. And the pages I believe would still be a no-no. Their sorta tied into the storyline.

Perhaps you could gain awards in some central age for completing puzzles or other activities in ages? This gives kinda the same end result but I think it's different enough. It would encourage more than just passive exploration. Perhaps such things as individual or team problem solving, creativity, or perserverence.

You can't get enough passive exploration, imo... B)
