Greetings All,

I recently joined and am looking for options on software that will create a word/quick reference to a book I have written.

Anyone have any ideas of decent indexing software to use, preferably a shareware version of something I can try before purchasing it. I've done quite a bit of surfing online and really cant find much in the way of indexing.

Appreciate all your input.

Craig-

Turing test: Are you aware that this forum is specialized for people writing Ages for the game Uru, and is not for writers in general?

Perhaps you are searching for something as this is? because making an index is already integrated in word.
Not sure whether i did understand your questions well.

For a quick index, Word will do a decent job. Remember that you have to mark keywords manually, or they don't show in the index.

The most complete indexes are done by hand by trained indexers. An index requires that the person (or software) knows HOW you are using the word/phrase, so it is inserted into the index properly. There is a reason why they make lots of $$ ;)

A friend of mine is a professional indexer in the software world. She charges $22K per month and SHE GETS IT! I am so in the wrong industry...
