That was a long break

Postby katreeny » Sun Feb 21, 2010 4:16 pm

Between the job going totally feral (it still is, sadly) and a whole bunch of other stuff, it's been forever since I stopped in here - and boy have things changed!

So... In order to get back to making Ages, what do I need?
Blender, obviously, but which of the other tools are needed?

Also, how many (if any) can be used in Linux (I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 as my primary system, and only boot to Windows when I absolutely HAVE to), and have any of the Linux geeks here figured out how to run a modified Uru - CC (that is still the base, yes?) on Linux?

Thanks in advance,

Katreeny

I do all my Age building, testing, and developing in Linux, so you shouldn't have any problems :)

Offline KI was exclusively developed on Linux ;-)

All you need is wine, which runs Uru and the Windows-only tools (UruFun, UruPython, PRPExplorer, PlasmaShop 2) quite fine - though these tools are hardly necessary, now that we have Drizzle, libPlasma with its command-line tools and PlasmaShop 3, all of which run natively on Linux.
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.
