I still think its a good idea, as well, but, I'm not even vaguely inspired, anymore, myself, but, still, it might be interesting to see what others can do =)

EDIT: By that, I mean this MOUL forum rubbish is really getting me down, and I know some others are feeling the same =/

Hmm... I may try to expand my "D'ni Temple" level after this semester is over - I have multiple new areas planned for it.

If I get it into Uru: Complete Chronicles, though - and make it available on Drizzle - does that count as an entry?

Because while I've got a copy of 3ds max, it's not 3ds max 7 or 8, it's the current version - and I haven't been able to acquire a legit copy of the older versions yet.

So it looks like I'll be working on it in PyPRP/Blender, and I'll need someone else's help to port it to MO:ULa when it's done.

BTW, haven't uploaded video or screenshots of the level in its current form, but it already looks significantly better than it has looked in the screenshots/video I've thus far posted.

I'll try to get new video online by the end of May, and the actual finished level onto Drizzle by June or July.

It'll include the currently known portions of the level, plus the Assembly Cove, the Fountain Plaza, and the Hall of Illusions.

Now that I'm relearning Blender and so forth, I'd love to be involved - but the combination of Linux-only and not much $$$ to spare means no Max - so... where the heek do I get the Cavern textures to use in what I'm planning?

You can't get them with Max either; I think Riveal or something of a kind would help better.

I use: PRPShop -> open age PRP (usually all textures are in one prp) -> export as dds -> convert with GIMP (there is aplugin for Gimp to deal with dds).

Hmm, good to know. But usually I don't want just to copy texture. Sometimes I find in URU something close to that i would like to make, and modify it.

So, should we actually have this contest or not? I vote yes.
