Introducing a little companion

Postby Christopher » Tue Jul 26, 2011 5:02 am

In the last few days I have worked on a cat, that will follow you in each Age, in which you link. If you are on your Relto the cat sits in the Hut. It also can be enabled or disabled with a Reltopage.

What do you think about it?

The Optimist see's the glass half full, The Pessimist see's the glass half empty.
Its the Realist who see's the glass is half full with air, half full with water

It is not static. It has an Animation for following you. The only problem is, that you can only see your cat, and not the cat of other players.

That's awesome! I would love to have a crow that follows me through the ages.
Would you maybe make a tutorial how to do this?

Its a truely awesome creation
But if we are going to be allowed a choice in companions then I would truely desire my namesake The Black Snake

For now it's only possible to get the cat, but I am working on the possibility to change the companion. I also don't know how to implement a "Changing-System", because I don't want to spam the Reltobook with Yeeshapages. I'm open to suggestions.

@Corvus: There is not very much to explain in an tutorial. I've written a pythonfile, which spawn a Custom-Avatar (because of this it is only functioning in Moul) on your position. Then it follow you through a oneshot-animation. The difficult thing is to make the Custom-Avatar ... and I don't know, if I could make a understandable tutorial (because of my bad english).

I would recommend making it a single "Pet" relto page (nice art on that cat page, btw) and for now allow changes through a /command of some kind (and if necessary store the preference in a Chronicle Node), which would then unload/reload the correct custom avatar. If you can standardize what parts are needed in the avatar, people could make their own animals and just plug it in.
