I have become conditioned to using nodes for my Non Uru use of Blender where I use Cycles for rendering.
I don't believe there are any current plans to do this specifically, but one of the Blender features we'd like to take advantage of someday (if possible -- way down the road) is a custom renderer that would preview your Age using the same pipeline as Uru. At that point, perhaps a custom nodal material system would be possible.
I too miss being able to use nodes for textures when Age building, as I enjoy doing my work in Cycles when I'm not doing Uru-related tasks.
