When I am writing a post (note not a PM) there is an option to save as a Draft but how do I retrieve the drafted post?

User Control Panel → Manage Drafts, I believe. If you want to edit and post it (not just edit it), you'll need to use the "Load Draft" option if my memory serves me.

I write a post but it is not complete so I use Save as Draft button because I need to deliver my partner to her work.

I come back how do I retrieve that draft post?

If I look in drafts from my member page I only see draft PM's

Whenever I need to write a long post I just type it first in a text file on my computer before copy/pasting it online.

I have a .txt file on my windows desktop I use just for that, and taking random notes. It accumulateds random stuff over the years, and get ridiculously long. I only reset it whenever I need to re-install Windows every couple years.. Right now according to Word it's over 52.000 characters long.

I looked in my drafts folder in 'User Control Panel' and found two draft forum posts I hadn't got round to deleting. So draft posts do go there, J'Kla. You have the option of editing or deleting the drafts.

Yes I have used that floating text file or word file method. I've tried using that save as draft button a few times now and I never find it in the draft stuff.

Sometimes I save a post unfinished and go back and add to it.

I know there was another forum where you had to use a particular scheme to see drafts.

I just wondered if it was something like that.

Saving drafts require clicking "ok" on a second validation screen. If you were in a hurry you might have missed it, and then the draft wouldn't be saved.

Experimental draft post.

Yep that worked don't know how I missed that two stage thing but I obviously did just that.

Thanks for the heads up there. ;)
