Issue with offline ki and EAX sounds restauration

Hey, so i recently re installed the game on my pc, lost my cd so i had to get the game on gog but i face some issues with offline ki
if i install it manually the ki itself is buggy and don't work (buttons except the one to disable sounds don't do anything, and all ui elements are visible on it)
if i install it with drizzle (31.1 or 32) then the charracter creation screen is glitched and if i use a save after i created a charracter the bottom buttons (ki, relto, help and quit) does not work

im running W7 64bits, i updated java to the latest version, my game is in french (but that was also the case before and it was working), i installed the game outside of program files

EDIT: managed to found my CDs and installed the game with them but still the same issues, glitched charracter creation screen, i don't understand

EDIT2: Ok found out the issue, for some reason using creative alchemy wich add a dsound.dll in the game folder to restore EAX and hardware sounds breaks the offline ki (EAX with the dsound.dll worked perfectly fine without offline ki installed) anyway to get EAX working with offline ki ? don't rly see how dsound.dll could break it

Yeah, I know someone who had the same issue. It wasn't exactly a problem with Creative ALchemy, but with DSOAL's dsound.dll (which doesn't require ALchemy but restores EAX as well - maybe you're mixing up those two ?). Anyway, the bug appears to be the same.

Basically, when the game starts, dsound.dll creates a log.txt (or similar) file in the game folder. For some reason the Offline-KI hates seeing .txt files in the game folder, and will try to move them to the sav folder - and fail miserably since dsound.dll still has ownership of the file. This triggers many more errors down the line. It's kinda silly how a simple .txt file can break the whole game...

I should probably see if we can fix the Offline-KI itself. In the meantime, you could try using those DSOAL DLLs instead - those are the ones I'm using and for some reason they don't create any log file on my PC. Worth a shot.

Ye using DSOAL instead of creative alchemy worked (didn't created a .txt file unlike alchemy), thx for the info.
Btw i have some other questions/issues:
-How can i restore the blue cloth texture inside the POTS books ? (it have the green texture of moul wich don't match the cloths founds in the ages) (same for the lush relto page wich appear with the moul texture now)

Issues with moul ages (converted with drizzle 32 with the python file it include)
-Minkata portal does not appear after i trigger the main stone in night time (enabling the portal manually with /setsdl work)
-Linking to Seret seems to crash/freeze the game
-is Heek supposed to be playable ? (since the table in bevin is no longer broken)

Tiens, remplace ce fichier dans le dossier DAT du jeu. Visiblement on s'est basé sur la version MOUL du fichier à un moment, ce qui a remplacé les textures originales. (Je vais voir si on peut aussi corriger ça dans la version officielle du Offline-KI).

Ca fonctionne correctement de mon côté. Tu as pensé à attraper l'hologramme quelquepart dans le désert de nuit ? Revenir à la version "jour" sans avoir attrapé l'hologramme ne suffit pas à activer le fragment du portail dans la version de jour.

Hmmm, j'arrive à m'y lier perso, mais l'Âge fait planter le jeu en quelques secondes. Vu qu'on a pas les sources de cette version du moteur de jeu c'est difficile de dire d'où ça vient, donc malheureusement j'ai pas d'idée pour réparer ça

Non, hélas, il ne fonctionne pas dans PotS. Faudrait le recoder de zéro pour le faire fonctionner sur cette version du moteur de jeu, on a jugé que ça valait pas vraiment le coup (surtout vu qu'il est pas jouable en solo).

Ah oui effectivement le symbole, j'avais complètement oublié ça dans l'âge déso.

Pour Seret, j'ai réussi une fois a accédé à l'âge et ça a freeze/planter au bout de quelques secondes, sinon la plupart du temps ça survient à la toute fin du chargement.

Par contre ça ne corrige pas la page Relto du Fireplace (ce sont les seules pages Relto qui ont été changées).

Aucun problème pour moi. Windows 7 Pro x64 ; version GOG + patch beta 1.1.4 de Chogon ; raccourci vers Uru.exe exécuté en tant qu'administrateur (j'ai mis tous les exécutables du jeu en compatibilité XP SP3).
J'en profite pour demander si "quelqu'un sait s'il y a une séquence de définie pour déverrouiller la porte d'entrée vers les liaisons privées ("egg-room") ?" ; j'ai essayer "BOBOGOOBO" (Kirel) et "OGGO" (Bevin) mais ça ne va pas pour Seret.

Si je copie ces DLLs dans le dossier du jeu ça ne rend pas les cases correspondantes activables ; dois-je installer un truc avant ? DSOAL ? Auriez-vous un lien pour le télécharger SVP ?

Je ne me souvenais plus que la page du Fireplace avait changé aussi mais oui effectivement.

J'ai aussi W7 pro x64 et le jeu en compatibilité XP SP2 (je l'avais mis en SP3 avant et même résultat pour Seret; SP2 semble améliorer le saut à Gahreesen)
Je n'utilise pas le dernier patch car il contient uniquement des fixes pour W10 et désactive DirectMusic qui devrait fonctionner avec Dsoal/Alchemy normalement (j'utilise également un CRT haute gamme de l'époque comme écran donc pas vraiment besoin du fix widescreen, je peux jouer en 1600x1200 voir monter jusqu'en 1920x1440)
Mais bon normalement le patch ne devrait pas fix un bug liée à un âge converti

De base dans MOUL, ton quartier (sur offline ki/drizzle, Seret) a la salle de l’œuf ouverte par défaut donc je ne sais pas pourquoi elle est fermée ici.

Conversion effectuée avant cet été je crois, avec Drizzle32 (version du 01-02-21).

J'ai une idée pour Seret, vue que ta conversion est plus ancienne, peux tu poster les fichiers de l'âge afin de voir si il fonctionne chez moi (et chez Sirius aussi)

The version is now displayed in the game window title (when in windowed mode) and this patch should display "UruExplore 1.1.4 beta" The UruExplore.exe file Properties, Details should show the correct Product version and the File description more accurate.
2) Win10 Cursor fix --
This is the fix that was created by Adam Johnson and Joseph Davies that fixes the right-mouse camera pan in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. This fix will also work if you have UruExplore.exe in compatibility mode (such as WindowsXP - which fixes a reported crash in Teledahn)
3) HD resolution support --
In UruSetup.exe, under the Graphics tab, the resolutions selectable in Screen Resolutions should now include HD (ie. 16:9 and 16x10) resolutions. If the resolution is an HD resolution the aspect ratio will be displayed with the resolution. Such as "1280x720 (16:9)"
4) DirectMusic disabled --
Microsoft has long since deprecated DirectMusic. Uru: Complete Chronicles only uses it marginally and works fine without it. The reason for disabling DirectMusic is because in some system configurations it would cause crashes.


=== Known issues ===
1) For all scopes and telescope, the vignette or scope viewing screen does not cover the entire screen in HD resolutions.
2) UHD resolutions (21:9 and above) will not be supported... the camera system becomes too warped and is not playable.
3) In HD resolutions, when in first person, the sides of the game screen becomes warped or stretched. It is not as pronounced as UHD but is quite noticiable.
