That was quite interesting.
I like how he ties in information from different sources such as Exile.
Good soundtrack too, and good visuals.

The person originally behind the now-abandoned GuildofWriters.org is this guy:
http://www.xanderdavis.com/

You may recognize one of the groups mentioned on that page, Dreamseed, as being the group that was working on the now-abandoned project, Aveara: An Empire Beyond MYST.

It's too bad these things were started and never finished.

Yes, lots of unfinished projects in the Myst universe...

This seemed to be a big effort. Looks like they had people from several places.
Looking at the team roster, I see Matt Witkowski (Web site music).
Also François Jolin (music) is a Quebecer.
Judging by his writings I'd say Alexander Davis is American ("although I'm not advocating consumption of wine unless you're of legal age..."). :P

I wonder why they stopped. Probably some key members just lost interest.

The book interface on guildofwriters.org is great. We should use something similar for presenting our Ages on the Web.

Yes, it's too bad the site stopped being updated, it was extremely well done.. Same goes for Aveara. I didn't remember it was the same people who did both... (else I would have found it sooner. x( )
Aveara was really looking nice, but a couple people probably lost motivation and the whole thing went poof slowly. (or perhaps quickly). Motivation really is the key to internet-based projects.. (and some times you need a lot of it to complete a project -- especially something as large as Aveara.)

But as nice looking and interesting as Aveara was I'm much more impressed by the GoW.org site; because it was completed. How many sites have we seen seen that had a great 'coming soon' page but never saw the light of day?

Woops, I should have checked my names... Matt is neither Dan'nee nor Dan'ni on UO. I thought he was Dan'ni.
