Aquh - The Memorial Age

EDIT: CLA for this age is now closed as the age has been taken private again, sorry. The current final vers 0.1 can still be downloaded from my site there just isn't much to look at.

For sometime I have been putting of working on any of my ages. School work, I am in my last semester of college, and trying to find a career to go with my degree has me bogged down. I was just going to go and put up my ages the way they were and then Robert suggested doing a Chain Letter Age like the one Jojon started instead.

And here you have it.

I figured the first age to start as a Chain Letter Age would be Aquh. This is the age I had been working on as a Memorial Age for members of the community that have since passed on. And I thought what better age to do a Chain Letter Age for then Aquh. Why should I alone show the community my vision of a memorial when others can to.

The rules here are the same as in JoJon's Chain Letter Age.
......You generally have one week to work on your contribution.
......You can add or remove any object from the age. It doesn't matter what, you can even remove another contributors addition.
......I will pm you with download/upload instructions when its your turn.
......Memorials are up to the Contributor.

Let's make this the most memorable memorial age there is.

Thank you for sharing your age, I.Brattin.

Any rules about who can be memorialized, e.g. characters that died whose real-life counterparts are still alive (Willow) as well as those whose counterparts have passed on (Pepsi, CAGrayWolf, Jahuti)?

To tell the truth in regards to the CLA I hadn't given it any real thought. I know when I was working alone on this that I had intended only to do those players who have passed on. I think it should be up to the contributors if they want to add a marker to Wheelie, or any other Cyan character, or not.

Or Cyan itself.

True. What do you two think though. It really don't matter to me if Cyan characters that have passed on, during the course of their story, are added.

And while were discussing it, either of you interested in contributing?

Not me, I'm not much of a Writer.
I'm not even sure I'd get the brown cube correctly.

I've never said this about a fan Age, but I really don't like this. It trivialises actual death, in my opinion :(

That being said, I will still put it on UAM if you want, as I don't censor Ages at all.

The "chainletter" concept lends itself to a degree of chaos, which may not be quite what you look for, for this age, unless every participant is 100 per cent in on it. A more traditional group working in "parallel", rather than "serial" might be a better fit for Aquh, allowing participants to work on their parts simultaneously, without a limited timeslot. This could also give you more control over the outcome, but could also mean more _W_ork (_t_ime multiplied by _P_ower :P) spent on your part, unless you delegate the management as well.

Like Dustin, the idea of a virtual burial/memorial grounds doesn't appeal to me, but I might try to find time to add some small contribution, once I'm done with my turn at Rell-Too, which I'm about to get going on.

In order to be a place of "joyful" remembrance, rather than destructive mourning, it seems to me that the age really need a lot of greenery and bright colour, perhaps an open layout garden area, spread across the hill, surrounding the central building, with paths connecting little open areas that have benches and a view. (I believe, though, this may be exactly what Tweek is doing for his very similar-in-purpose age...)
The colouring and lonely high location of the current blockout makes it look a little more like some sort of temple of doom, despite its light-on-the-top structure.. :9 White, although cliche might be a better fit.

Does that sound like something?

K first off the CLA was Robert's Suggestion. I was originally just going to release what I had for download at my site, I am just too busy right now to give this or my other ages any attention. I had no intention of even putting them on UAM in their current state.

I never envisioned a "memorial grounds" I had always envisioned a Garden Age. With a "Wall" like the one in Washington DC up on the upper section of the building. I had envisioned trees and scenery but as I already said I am just too busy right now to add anything. Shoot I have yet to even add water around the island.

At this time I think it is probably best I just take this age private again and plan on trying to finish it sometime down the line when I again have time. I will have a look at the rest of my ages and see which one I might like to try as a CLA and see if people would be more interested in it.
