Special words in journals/other

Postby someone » Tue Dec 07, 2010 6:32 pm

I was wondering how would the new ''translated'' Uru would look like. During the first French translation by Cyan, even though the accents (é, è, ê, à...) were normally written in journals and stuff, some other special words using ''œ'' weren't visible, leaving a big gap in the text, like sister (sœur) and heart (cœur).

Should I try to write it ''oe'', or is it OK to use the ''œ'' ?

Where have these words been written ? Cyan used some special commands for special symbols. It could be found in one of the Python script. Maybe these letters are missing in the front files or not recognized by the game, but it should work.

The commands Cyan most use are:
\xe0 for à
\xe9 for é
\xe8 for è
\xea for ê
\' for '
...

There are some others ones, I can find them if you want. But I don't know if they can be used in fan ages as the python files are not the same.

For these words, the simpler solution would be to use "e" for "é" and "è", "oe" for "œ" etc.

About the French translation, maybe it would be a good idea to update it, as most of the MOULa journals are in English (as well as some problems with missing parts of journals ; there is a whole entry of Sharper's journal missing in French and German, PLUS the MOULa entries).
It also seems that some translation errors have been found (I don't remember the name of the topic about it).

So far, I found ''n<ud'' written in the 108th entry of Sharper's journal (DRC journals)
I think I also saw ''c ur'' (coeur) written once, but i'm not certain about that one...

I did found "cœur", however it was written "coeur". Or maybe it was written another way in another journal.

Here are every special symbols I found:

\xab\xa0[word]\xa0\xbb = "[word]"
\xa0 = before special puntuation: [word]\xa0?

\xc0 = À
\xc2 = Â
\xc7 = Ç
\xc8 = È
\xc9 = É
\xca = Ê
\xcb = Ë
\xce = Î

\xe0 = à
\xe2 = â
\xe7 = ç
\xe8 = è
\xe9 = é
\xea = ê
\xeb = ë
\xee = î

\xf4 = ô
\xf9 = ù
\xfb = û

n<uds = noeud (but not working, ex: Le CRD se fait des n<uds au ventre)

\x96 = for dates, ex: 1/12/03 \x96 On dirait...

\n = line break
\' = '

Hope it will be useful to someone !!!

URU Journals French translation

Merci beaucoup d'avance :)
