now that you are a proud member of the DI shard (DI), you want to play the game and what is everyone's reference or maybe 95% of us : MOULa.
I won't get you all the details here it would be too long and not interesting : I will keep it as clear and simple as I can possibly do (that will be hard

Entry point :
- Show Spoiler
on MOULa : your Relto, in order to have access to your KI faster as well as meeting other explorers. Upon your visit to the Cleft (D'ni-Riltagamin), you'll be able to grab the 3 Relto pages available at this point.
on DI : directly in D’ni-Riltagamin (the Cleft). You'll gain access to your Relto at the very end of your visit, therefore the 3 Relto pages that you will encounter during your initial visit won't be effective if you touch them. You'll be able to grab them in a subsequent visit.
How to work around the Cleft's Relto pages issue on DI :
- Show Spoiler
You can always ask someone to share his/her D’ni-Riltagamin link with you (on DI, the sunny Cleft is shareable), you can also find 3 "hidden" links located in 3 fan ages: TheWalkingMaze, CampBravo, & Shell 211 in Ahra Pahts to reach your own Sunny Cleft.
Seret Neighbourhood :
- Show Spoiler
Available on DI only: One of the first hood discovered when explorers came into the Cavern, not available in MOULa. This neighbourhood has an imager where you can post your images. Your home neighbourhood, The Deep Island Neighbourhood doesn't have an imager allowing image posting.
Guilds' Pubs, Kirel, & GZ markers :
- Show Spoiler
On MOULa, the Guilds' Pubs are reachable one at the time after a visit to Kirel to grab a Guild's T-Shirt or if you already have one in your wardrobe. To visit a different pub, you must change your t-shirt.
On DI, all the Guilds' Pubs are available through your Nexus links.
On MOULa, "Kirel" is a unique age. The Guilds' t-shirt are available there.
On DI, "Kirel" comes in 2 versions:
the MOULa's Kirel called the "Guilds' Neighbourhood" available through a bahro stone located on the main plaza in Ae'gura
the URU:CC's Kirel called the "DRC's Neighbourhood". The DRC's Neighbourhood will be the most important for the gameplay, some GZ markers are spreaded over there.
(The colours in the following descriptions are those reflected on the small squares on the KI devices)
On MOULa, each hood contains all of the 6 GZ markers (green & red).
On DI, those same 6 GZ markers (green & red) are spread between The Deep Island & The DRC neighbourhoods.
On MOULa, the GZ calibration process is divided in 3 phases: 15 green, 15 red, & 228 yellow
On DI, the GZ calibration process is divided in 3 phases: 5 green, 15 red, & 4 yellow
On MOULa, you can create marker missions, your markers won't make noise and will be purple. You can reset them and stand inside them even if the markers are not from your own creation.
On DI, you can create marker missions, your markers will be audible on their creation and will be yellow. You cannot stand inside them if they are not from your own creation.
TPoTS Journey (BIG DIFFERENCES read carefully) :
- Show Spoiler
On DI, the TPoTS Journey is similar as the one found on URU:CC making it completely different from the MOULa's TPoTS Journey.
On MOULa, there are "The Watcher's Pub" (1), "Er'cana" (2), "Ahnonay's Cathedral" (3), "Ahnonay" (4), "D'ni-K'veer" (5), & "Myst" (6)
The TPoTS Journey there goes like this: from (1) you can go to (2) or (3), (3) and (4) are linked together, solving (2) & (4) enables you to visit (5) and ultimately (6).
On DI, there are multiple instances of some given ages in the list above and their name are different.
MOULa's "The Watcher's Pub" is called "The Great Tree Pub" on DI. You can access through the Nexus. From there, you can link to a customized MOULa's "Ahnonay". The goal of that specific customized age is to go through the portal to access the bahro cave for your stone (wedge).
MOULa's "Er'cana" doesn't exist on DI.
MOULa's "Ahnonay's Cathedral" is called "Ahnonay" on DI. It's a public age. Turning the spheres around will be apply globally to every explorers of the shard until a new rotation is applied. The 13th feather (see next section below) has to be "put in your pocket" in this age.
MOULa's "Ahnonay" doesn't exist on DI. It has been replaced by 4 ages, one by sphere.
MOULa's "D'ni-K'veer" exists and is easily reachable at any moment by reaching the bahro stone located in the Kahlo's Pub in Ae'gura. From there, you will be able to visit Myst 5 EoA's "Myst Island" if you imported the Myst 5 EoA's ages on your DI install.
MOULa's "Myst" doesn't exist on DI.
DI's "The Watcher's Pub" is called "The Watcher's Sanctuary". You must access it in order to visit Er'cana & Ahnonay (then the Spheres) & to finish the solving of the TPoTS journey (solved like in URU:CC)
DI's "Er'cana" is the age found on URU:CC. The solving follows URU:CC's TPoTS. Do not forget to go through the portal located in the canyon at any time to grab your stone (wedge) in the bahro cave.
DI's "Sphere 1" is the equivalent of the 1st sphere of URU:CC's "Ahnonay". The solving follows URU:CC's TPoTS. The quabs (crab-like creatures) are disabled.
DI's "Sphere 2" is the equivalent of the 2nd sphere of URU:CC's "Ahnonay". The solving follows URU:CC's TPoTS. The ning trees (blue crystal trees) are disabled.
DI's "Sphere 3" is the equivalent of the 3rd sphere of URU:CC's "Ahnonay". The solving follows URU:CC's TPoTS.
DI's "Sphere 4" is the equivalent of the 4th sphere of URU:CC's "Ahnonay". The solving must follow URU:CC's TPoTS.
DI's "D'ni-K'veer" is the age found on URU:CC. It's made only of the circular room where Atrus wrote his books (reference to Myst game). On your first visit there, the game will take control of your avatar and will make you quit the age. You'll be able to return there at your leisure after. You'll find a link in your Hood Brown book.
DI's "Myst" is the age found on URU:CC. You'll link inside the fireplace. You must solve the puzzle to be able to exit and find all the goodies.
I know it's quite complex at the first glance. After a while, you'll get use to it & you'll find it less complex.
Feathers "Journey" :
- Show Spoiler
The feathers "Journey" is an Easter Egg made as a tribute to old Zork-like adventure text games. In those games, the player had only a black screen and had to write small texts in order to advance in the adventure : "open mailbox", "read letter", and so on...
There are two command lines involve in this Easter Egg : /get feather and /look in pocket.
The start is Eder Gira. Nothing particular is attached to it, just being in Eder Gira is enough.
You can collect up to 13 feathers.
You must grab them in a given order.
Eder Gira has 7 feathers. The 6 remaining feathers are located in 6 different ages.
On MOULa, the last feather is located in Ahnonay.
On DI, that same last feather is also located in Ahnonay. But since the DI's Ahnonay is different from the MOULa's Ahnonay, you have to make sure to visit the appropriate age on DI...
Give me the right order :
- Show Spoiler
Eder Gira 7 plain feathers, Eder Delin 1 red feather, Dereno 1 blue feather, Payiferen 1 black feather, Er'cana 1 silver feather, Jalak Dador 1 duck feather, & Ahnonay 1 ruhk feather
Sparklies :
- Show Spoiler
On MOULa, they are all available at any time.
On DI, they are available on a monthly basis instead, one at the time. For example, in September, you must search for the sparkly of that specific month. All the others won't be showing up anyway until a later month. If you are very organized, in 11 months & 1 day, you can get all your 12 sparklies to have access to your reward.
The Pods (added by Diafero)
- Show Spoiler
The four pods from MOULa can be visited as usually from the city, but they are not instanced - there is just one global Negilahn and so on. Midst the four MOUL POD Books, there also is a book to Todelmer, an age from Myst V which contains a pod very similar to the ones seen in MOUL. You need to convert the Myst V ages to visit that age.
That’s it with the major differences between the 2 versions. There are other differences that I can think of but there are not major issues and you won’t maybe never notice them so no point to tell you at this time.
Have a nice time on DI Shard.
