Ok, time for a "Steam-Uru-Deep Island Shard" Update:
Uru CC finished downloading on steam, Making a backup of the game was the first thing I did, steamapps/common/uru cc/
I took the entire directory, and put it in a backup directory elsewhere on my C:\ Drive.
Then, I copied the uru di-patcher.zip contents stright into the directory, Steam was open the entire time, I overwrote the files steam had downloaded, and started uru.exe (and not the uruexplorer.exe that came with steam) and steam had a hissy fit, Threw a gasket, so what did I do? Closed it down completely, then started the patcher again. It is right now updateing apprently, and doing well 67 megs of the 136.1 downloaded so far. It did throw me an error about half way though the first time, so I was forecd to close it, I started it again and its gotten past the point it crashed last time. It is apprently working now.
I am hopeful that once it is finished, I will be able to launch it completely without steam (once you have the files from steam)
I will update this message when the patching is done and let everyone know how it went. if it does work, then This will be good news for ALL steam owners of the game! Infact, it done correctly it could even work very well, and allowing more users to help support cyan by Buying the game on steam! even though its free, with the free verson you don't get any player added mods, only the orginal, but if you buy it on steam you will get the player made stuff and still be able to play it online!
I am positivity quivering in aintipation!
as I know more, you will know more!
