About the Two Board Game Backgammon and Chess

Postby Karkadann » Wed Oct 13, 2010 2:15 pm

I was wondering is their any way to set them up so that they reset themselves when everyone leaves.
Also not knowing how to play Backgammon I was wondering.......what does it need as far as a usable board game is concerned.
I know the Chess age needs numbers and letters so you can call out the spaces easer.
Any constructive criticism or opinions would be more then welcome they are my first two published ages and I wanted to make sure they work right for the average players

Perhaps this link could help you to learn it:

It is a really nice game.

Yes, I can do that, already on my way :)

For a reference of how the fields on the chess board are labelled, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess (my brother is playing chess a lot and participating in tournaments and so on, so I noticed that immediately ;-) ).

This reminds me to mention this:
Normally, a chess board is placed in a way that the lower right hand corner field is white, and lower left = a1 = black.
On my last visit, the checkerboard was reversed/rotated (lower right field was black, and a1 was white).
Not sure though if this would confuse advanced players.

Board colour squares are immiterial as I have seen stone boards made with all colors and game notation disrgards board square color as long as it's two colours and they alternate.

With regard to Backgamon I have devised a set of base 25 die.

Do you think they would work in the Backgammon game.
It might be interesting to have to different kinds of dice to choose from

If I remember right it's quite feasible to throw double sis twice which is 24 remove the two throw for a double and I think D'ni dice have similar probability. note these are not two 12 sided die or a single 24 sided. This is done with an eight and a six.

No, they are definitely not. As tachzusammn pointed out, it is important that the white queen starts on a white field, and the black one on a black field. Every serious chess player will tell you that.
