That's really strange. IIRC there are some tools to restrict processes on Windows to use only some of the available CPU cores? Does someone here know such a tool? Maybe that could help, though I don't see how multiple cores could be an issue.
Anyone here using a "true" quadcore for DI? (my laptop is a dual-core with hyperthreading, so I guess that doesn't count)
I prefer e-mails to "diafero arcor de" (after adding the at and the dot) over PMs.

Try setting 'Affinity' to one core for the game execute.

I have already tried the affinity settings -to limit to one CPU, that seemed to slightly improve for a while, and then when back to its old ways.

It seems almost trivial to say this, but so many of my computing problems have been caused by something as simple as this before, so I decided I should... If you use a wired network to connect to DI, make sure that everything is plugged in properly and the network isn't giving out, causing you to disconnect.

I'm quite serious... it's trivial, which is why it's easy to overlook. If you call a tech support crew and tell them that your keyboard isn't working, the first thing they'll ask you is whether or not it's plugged in. I think something like half the time the answer is "No...".
You've just got to accept it... some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue.

Many thanks for the suggestion - it is always a good idea to check everything is connected properly. It certainly can't hurt to check again.
