For anyone still struggling with the Playfair Cipher:

The letters accessed at the end of Level 7 serve as the keyword for the cipher. The rest of the blank spaces are filled in with the remaining letters of the alphabet. In the Wikipedia article Korovev posted, it says that I and J are traditionally used as interchangeable to make the alphabet fit a 5x5 grid, however Jhon uses W and V as interchangeable. After filling out the key, the rest of the rules described on Wikipedia can be used to crack the cipher, resulting in a nine digit code in word form. An example of the form would be ON ET WO TH RE E...etc. Both sets of letters work with the key to open the doors to the laboratory.

Thanks for the awesome hints and tips, gebhartc ... this is really helpful for all who'd like to go for it ...

I myself am glad that I had the nerves to read through the playfair website TrapperDave pointed us to lol, and so far I got this lol, I could even decode JFK's message based on a special 'Alphabet Key' and 'Tableau' hihi, but I don't like to go deeper into that stuff ...

Yeah, however, great, go on having fun, everyone ... Myst/Riven folks love such kind of challenges, you're right, JJ ...

I'll give it a try today... it should have been named "Playhard".

@ Annabelle Yeah I know what you mean, esp. when all the clues aren't complete such as switching the I to J > W to V without a clue.

HEHE...congratulation all. The age is solved now. But i not tell nothing about the sistem for enter in the secret room. Is important you have learn from the first 4 ages of Relto. The microscope have 10 different species, observe all if you will. I hope you have fun with my master age, created for to challenge your great minds.
I am started with the Third age, but only in the project......it is very different landscape.

The 1st code opens the door to little room. The second code opens the stairs on right side platform.
In the lab I read the book about obtaining a "Key" to final or main age.
I dunno if I have that "Key" . I am left with a feeling of emptiness like I didn't find a "Key".
Since I knew about the secret room " Knight Door" I went there to find the door was still closed.
So I am left with the secret room closed.
Puzzled to put it bluntly. But my time is limited because RL work now & I need to check things out more.
I just tried it once.

Hmm I don't know but wish you good luck, other than offline when I look in Microscope and then stand I am put
in Fly Mode not to my choosing. Dunno if it's a bug or that's the way you go to Secret Room ?
Maybe Jhon can answer or keep us puzzled?

I think we are not supposed to enter the secret room at this time. As I thought before Jhon plans to bring us back there
from a future Age of his and only exit the room?

Is a little bug. me too i have see this effect with the microscope, but not offline.
But the microscope is only a microscope, an addictional thing who i have create for to use the Plasma scope in a new mode, and for to give a sense to the story and encyclopedia. I have give a indication about the mode for enter in the secret room....remember the first 4 ages of Relto. That is a Bonus Room, but is not a great problem enter in it...you most only think.
