Hello , as many of you here know , almost three years ago we lost our friend and a great Myst games supporter Wamduskasapa . his greatest wish was to see his dream age Blue Garden finished , and live in deep island ,
A group of people were willing to finish it after he passed away in 2017 , each having a part of info neccesary for this to happen . I would like to know what if anything has been done regarding this ? , it would be nice to see his age live as a tribute to our friend.
Regards

As far as I know, there was disagreement on who should be the steward of the Age. You should contact the people involved if you want to know more.

Oh yeah, I would love to see this happen sometime... I really liked Wam (didn't we all ! ;) ) and am interested in seeing what his Age looks like.

I think I should mention something though... I came across a friend of Wam's in the Cavern one day, who told me they felt hurt when seeing people arguing about who should finish the Age. I'm only saying this because we both believe Wam would have preferred everyone to keep calm about it, especially since it was his pet project.

Regarding the Age itself, he contacted me at some point to see if I could make a small multiplayer puzzle in it. It was a variant of the Battleship game with a much bigger game board. I started work on it (I even did a Riven-inspired 3D model which I still have). I never managed to get very far with this. Mostly because the game grid was huge and I wasn't sure how to set up all the clickables. Even today I'm not sure how I would go about it... Repairing the Training Wall was already hard enough as far as multiplayer goes.
Anyway. If someone wants, I can share the model - it's fairly simple but nice looking IMHO. I might also be able to dig in my email archives to find his messages explaining how the game is played if that really interests someone...

at this point, after almost 3 years of Wam passing, i think the age should be given to those people who are willing/have skills/time to work on it. nobody has any right to call the Blue Garden age their own except Wam. even if he asked some people to help him with puzzles or other things, it was still HIS idea, HIS age. i know as a fact that he did not sign it off. he also did not give the rights to it to anyone. if Wam asked someone to help him as he obviously did, and if he/she did something, that still belongs to Wam (as they did it for him, not themselves), so nobody really has any right to forbid anyone who is willing to work on it to finish it. i KNOW that Wam would love to see it finished, and that is what is the most important.

arguing did not result in anything done so far :( . it just discouraged some people who kindly offered to step in after Wam's passing and finish the age. if not for that argument, the Blue Garden age would already be a part of Deep Island shard.

to my opinion, and i was Wam's close friend, anyone who has the skill/wish/time, should feel free to finish Wam's age. it is what Wam would love to see happen. so if there is such someone please contact me and we can discuss it further.

P.S. Sirius - yes, there was a lovely and very much loved by all female friend, who contributed to the game in so many ways, who left the cavern for good after that argument. it was not the only reason for her leaving, but it was the very last drop she could not tolerate. and with Wam, we lost her as well :(

regarding the work you have done for Wam, i would love to have it Sirius. please PM or email me. thank you in advance.

I would love to see this Age completed, but at the same time I have a bunch of other projects I'm already working on, and have a hard time finding either time or motivation to do so :( And I think other people who were more familiar with Wam would know better what to do with his Age.

Sure ! I'll get it from my archive and try to dig up his own explanation of the rules for the game... I'll sent it to you during the week.
