Cool D'Lanor I will try to get it working on my pool in my swim region tutorial.

Well, it was working... until I installed the latest version from the trunk. Now there is some kind of z-fighting going on in my waveset (weird stripes) and the fps drops to 1. :(

I was just about to install tonight's nightly (and try wavesets for the first time) when you posted D'Lanor ... is it broken now?

Something is broken, but it is not the waveset. I reverted to my pre-waveset version, exported, deleted the sav file but I still have stripes and less than 1 fps.

Object are working now. Turn off the "ShadBuf" button on your materials.

ok....I'm confused ... is the present "nightly" version safe to install? ... (I really don't want to break my Age)

What happens is that the plugin actually works the way that it was supposed to as of the version 1.0.0 release. The "ShadBuf" button on the Material will cause objects to cast shadows. The problem is that a bug in the plShadowCaster caused them to not be rendered until yesterday.

Turn off the ShadBuf button in order to speed up the game and disable object shadows.

The nightly build is not safe for me. The supposed fix in alc_lightclasses caused my age to go bad. I reverted that file and the stripes are gone and fps is back to normal.

My waves however are now missing. Everything is set the same as before when it worked. And yes, shadbuf was already turned off for the waveset object (it is mentioned in the tutorial).

Edit: Wait a minute... object shadows? I thought that was impossible in the Plasma engine. Now I am really confused. :?

Object shadows are possible. That's the issue here, they take a lot of CPU and look really bad when they are cast onto a waveset.

Disable "ShadBuf" on all of your materials.

Hmm, If the choice is between object shadows and wavesets I prefer shadows. So AttenDist was set to 10 again to get those object shadows?
