Markers saved games question

I have created marker games in Minkata.

My question:
In case we have to do a new reinstall, can we save them and/or where are they stored ?

Thank you,
Nanouk.

They are normally saved in the /sav folder in Uru, but you can also export them individually as described here: http://alcugs.almlys.org/Offline-KI (check out the part about /export and /import).

The export command did the job. :D

Side note:
I made a copy of the Minkata.sav file and I had a look inside to see if the marker games were in there but it was some programmer code which was beyond my limited knowledge.

I also created an import folder in case we ever get to play online. 8-)

Thank you very much, Master ddb174.

Yeah, the sav files are almost impossible to read... but you wouldn't find the mission in there anyway. It is in the vault.dat file which you can read with tools like VaultShop (part of the PlasmaShop packet).

VaultShop is actually a rather user friendly program.

I gave up trying to use VaultShop, it keeps telling me it can't find the vault. Each time I try to open where a vault should be it says it can't find a vault to load.

Point it at the Uru root folder.

Shorah,

I did a test this morning and I tried importing a marker mission " *filename*.mfold" for a second avatar from my main avatar but the entry in the incoming box is not working. I was not able to open it so I coud import the .mlist into the marker mission for my second avatar.

Question: is it possible for a second avatar to import a marker mission from a main avatar ? (within the same game installation)

I will have to check that again - it should work though. It does not matter if the importing avatar is on the same installation as the exporting one though, the avatars of one installation are completely separated.
