The reason this is not for Shards is that most Shards (including DI and UAM Shard) distribute their own version of that file - it generally runs fine online though, so you can use it for your own Shard or Shard without dataserver.

I never said "I". At least it's fixed. Or perhaps the end has not yet been written....

Sorry for that... but thanks to the English language, we can just interpret this as the plural form of "you", speaking to everyone reading the post :)

I think it would be easier if he could post here himself, instead of piping all messages through you, nathan - just makes communication work better.

Anyway, without a screenshot, I can only guess that some files are invalid (a screenshot might not help though...). Unfortunately I know either how a steam-downloaded Uru looks like, nor what exactly he did. I read that others just installed the Offline KI and the NoCD patch using Drizzle and were fine.

To me steam-downloaded Uru looks exactly the way it should look like, but indeed some screenshots or better description would help.

I asked him to send a screenshot, I haven't received it yet. I'll e-mail him this link.
EDIT: I think he may have applied the DI patcher, but he needs to post some screenshots.

also, there's no need to remove Steam DRM from the Steam version of Uru. You can use the offline ki, and convert ages to pots format, and generally play around with mods (fan content) as you please without ever having to replace the .exe - Dustin is incorrect in this. However, for playing with shards, you'll need to install that shard's patch. This will probably include an .exe replacement. In which case, replace the steam .exe with the one from that shard's patch. =)
